WSET LEVEL 1 AWARD IN WINES

OVERVIEW

The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is an internationally recognized beginner-level certification course, ideal for those new to the world of wine. It is designed for anyone looking to explore wine systematically and build a solid foundation of knowledge — whether for personal interest or as the first step toward a career in wine.

FORMAT & LANGUAGE

In person, Turkish

Day 1 (Saturday): 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Day 2 (Saturday): 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

COURSE CONTENT

-The main types and styles of wine

-Common grape varieties and their characteristics

-Wine and food pairing principles

-Tasting of 9 wines

-Wine storage and service

-How to describe wines using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)

AT THE END OF THE COURSE

-You will be able to taste wines with a global perspective.
-You will identify key grape varieties and major wine styles.
-You will learn how to understand a restaurant or wine shop’s wine list and make your own selections.
-You will understand the basic principles of food and wine pairing and apply this knowledge to your choices.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

-Participants must be 18 years or older.

EXAM

The course concludes with a 45-minute exam consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions. You need to score 70% to pass.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET digital certificate.
